We are committed to continuous improvement with a preventive approach to the risks to the environment, safety and occupational health in the places where we operate and influence, ensuring compliance with national and international legislation
The SuKarne model for sustainability focuses on equitably managing the link between economy and community, while finding a viable path between the economy and the environment, and connecting community to the environment.
Our goal is to minimize our environmental impact by minimizing materials, energy and water consumption necessary for our operations, while being mindful of the well-being and satisfaction of interest groups.
Our sustainability has three levels at work: cultural sustainability, practical sustainability and strategic sustainability.
SuKarne's Environmental Commitment uses innovative technologies in its supply chain, which are mindful of non-renewable natural resources. Through concrete projects, organic waste is converted into clean energy and the by-products from industrial operations are converted into sustainable value-added bio-products that preserve the natural conditions of air, water, and soil.
We have plants that process meat and bone meal, blood and tallow meal, which are base products for other industries.
We process cowhides, which serve as materials for the automotive industry.
Feedlot manure is made into organic fertilizer (compost and vermicompost), reducing the environmental impact on air, water and soil and reducing the use of chemical fertilizers in agricultural crops.
We treat 100% of our waste water. We have biological treatment strategies in place that reduce the organic matter that are compliant with regulations.
We reuse 50% of treated water in irrigation paths and green areas.
We have photovoltaic cells on the roofs of our parking structures. We also have solar water heaters installed in process areas.
We replaced the lighting inside TIF plants with LED technology and supply natural gas for boilers.
We implemented an automated water spray system in our farmyards with programmed run times according to each season and the movement and activity of the livestock. There are also systems to capture suspended particles in food plants.
Our plant-life fencing prevents spreading of dust, reduces soil erosion, improves soil structure and moisture and offsets carbon dioxide effects.
We have metric indicators of water, energy, fuel and emissions of greenhouse gases that define strategies to meet our goals and get to know our ecological footprint.
We compare worldwide with the Best Available Technologies (BAT).
We encourage our employees to cultivate a habit of separating recyclable materials (paper, plastic, cardboard, batteries, ink cartridges, metal).
We adequately dispose unusable waste through approved companies.
At SuKarne, we know that working collectively with our customers, employees and the community allows us to deal with the complex challenges in this world in the best way possible.
That's why we design, coordinate, adapt and implement actions and programs that promote and divulge the sustainable company culture and image internally and externally, seeking strategic alliances with value chain and strengthening the company’s commitment as a leader in sustainability.
